2018 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN PRICE AND RELEASE DATE

2018 Volkswagen Tiguan could be called a second chance for VW to make an acceptable crossover for family purposes, but also practical enough to be a trusted vehicle for a heavy load. Aiming to be a competitor to such vehicles like Jetta or Passat, it has many novelties in equipment and surely greatly designed chassis. It is longer now than the last model, which provides more space for the third row, usually tight for taller passenger, and more cargo space, which is also not always easy to find in crossovers, especially not in combination with comfortable in the cabin.

EXTERIOR

As we already mentioned, 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan is longer than the last model that provides more space inside. However, the manufacturer has not changed a lot from the last model, nor goes too far away from classic models under this brand. There is recognizable front grille, with chromatic grids and incorporated LED front lights at the ends of it. Below them is a wide air intake, but perfectly combined with the size of the front bumper. The rear end is rounded with trapezoidal rear lights and thin spoiler on the rear window. The whole car has a plastic protection on the bottom.

INTERIOR

If we should point at one great feature in the cabin of 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, that would be a roomy and spaced space for large families. It sounds unbelievable, but the manufacturer has offered both, great spacious cabin with three comfortable rows, even for taller passengers, and large cargo space, not usual in combination with previous. Together with that comes large dashboard, maybe a little old-fashioned, with interesting chromatic details and modernly designed buttons and commands. There is large 8-inch touchscreen in the middle, too. The manufacturer took Audi’s Virtual Cockpit System, an improved navigation system, and blind-spot cameras.

ENGINE

The engine in 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan is acceptably strong 2.0-liter turbocharged four-in-line direct fueling petrol one, with 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. The speed of 60 mph increases for 8.6 seconds, while the fuel economy is measured approximately 23 mpg. The manufacturer has chosen to match this vehicle with an eight-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting mode. It will be offered as a front-wheel driving model, even though there are some expectations that it could be in all-wheel version, too.

2018 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN PRICE

The base model of 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan cost $25,345 but some trim versions we drove could cost more than $36,000 if you include all equipment. This model comes as a pair with new Touareg at the end of the year.
